So last night I went ahead and made the decision to finally activate my 30 Day membership to a new yoga studio in my neighborhood.
I know some studios complain about people who take advantage of introductory offers and jump around from studio to studio, but I actually think it's important to try different studios and see which one sutis you best.
And well, this new one may not be the best fit for me.
Because I like my yoga a little more upbeat. Peppy, if you will.
Perhaps that's the inner cheerleader in me...

Perhaps its because I think physical fitness should be fun and not so serious all the time.
Maybe it's because yoga is more physical than mental wellness for me. I mean, I run to maintain my sanity. I do yoga because it's a good workout.
So when I start a class and end a class with 10 minutes of breathing exercises? My mind is all..
"You have GOT to be kidding me."
Not that I don't think breathing excercises are important. I get that. But these breathing exercises came with fingers clasped beneath my chin and sounds that came from the girl next to me that made me seriously question whether or not she was possessed by the devil or Darth Vader. Maybe both?!?!
Although, it did lead me to this poll on PopSugar titled "Breathing Too Loud In Yoga Class - Is There Such A Thing?" Apparently, according to the poll, 75% of people think there is. So at least I'm not alone.

Otherwise, the class was fine. It wasn't a traditional flow, so it was hard for me to really get in to a rhythm. The poses were broken up and didn't move fluidly from one to another. Everytime we stopped between poses, they had us go to Savasana, and everytime I though "Oh, we're done now!" because I'm used to that being the final pose...
And of course, it all made me think to the most recent Jenna Marbles video... Ain't nobody got time for Savasana.
But I got a good workout in and I'm not gonna complain... To much... The workout was what I was there for, and even if it wasn't the most emotionally calming experience, I still felt it this morning when I woke up. And bonus - this place has showers, so I can go before work and not end up smelling all day!
But seriously, if anyone needs a lamaze coach, I'm totally your girl now. That class taught me well!
And even though I did a 75 minute yoga class... I still stopped at the gym to run a smidge on the treadmill. I bet they loved how good I smelled. ;)
#runlove, y'all!
