Oh-Em-Geezie, you guys!
It's a weekly recap!
First one since September 10th!
Two months is two months too long.
I promise to not go that long again.
And while there's not a lot to report, I have started running again, and, in an effort to start shaming myself in to running more, I'm going to start posting these weekly recaps. That way, I'll hold myself more accountable.
Or at least, that's the theory... ;)

Total miles for the past week: 3.02 miles.
Ok, we can't blame Nike for this... And no, not future running. Don't look too closely at those dates, people, or you will see that I apparently already ran TOMORROW. Yupp. Future, psychic running. It's really big here in Tennessee. Just kidding.
What really happened was My Nike Plus GPS Sportwatch completely died because I ignored it for so long and when I reset the date and time, I apparently forgot what date it was. I'm not really surprised. I haven't been able to keep track of the timezone lately, why should I know the date?
Monday: 1.02 miles at 10:25
My first run back since my knee injury! I know, slower than molasses. A couple things to note about this one. I was NERVOUS about getting back to running. Like, SCARED. I was afraid that if I started running again, I would re-injure my knee and would never be able to run again. Irrational, I know, but that's what it was. And the other key thing is HILLS. Tennessee apparently does not believe in flat land. Back home in Michigan, with farm country everywhere, there's flat land as far as the eye can see. Here in Tennessee, there's no flat land to be found, no matter how hard you look.
That being said, I was excited to be back to running, but clearly I have a lot of work to do to get back in to top form. Time to get back in to "training" mode!
Tuesday: 1.03 miles at 10:36
Same loop as before. A little "softness" in the bum knee, but it still felt good. Glad to be back running. These hills will either make me a better runner or be the death of me.
Whichever comes first. :)
Sunday: 1.00 miles at 10:19
A nice morning run! As I stepped out the door with my running buddy (Rory, my dog) it was misting and the temp was a balmy 63 degrees. I can really get used to this kind of weather! Back in Michigan today, it's also unseasonably warm, but there's tornado watches. Weird weather for them. But the weather was perfect here in Tennessee and a light mist felt great! I got my one mile in just in time before the rain picked up and really started coming down. I hadn't wanted to get out of bed, but I'm glad I did. I never regret going out and running. :)
And so, there's the past week. Nothing fancy. Low mileage. Slow speeds.
But you have to start somewhere! And I plan on increasing my mileage and my speed over the next couple of weeks. I'm signed up to run the Run Wild Bells Bend 6 Miler in December. I have m=one month to prepare myself. Glad to have a race date set to motivate myself to keep at it!
I hope y'all have a great next week! I know I have very high hopes for mine!
