1) I signed up to run my first ever Spartan Race. #STFU
2) I have recently become mesmorized by the concept of completing a goruck.
I absolutley cannot stop thinking about these two things I'm so excited for them.

For those of you who follow me on instagram or twitter (which, if you dont, why not? Seriously. It's like my blog, but with less talkie-talkie and more lookie-lookie.) you've probably heard about two things these past few days:
1) I signed up to run my first ever Spartan Race. #STFU 2) I have recently become mesmorized by the concept of completing a goruck. I absolutley cannot stop thinking about these two things I'm so excited for them.

This COULD be my review of the Cupid's Undie Run, a unique one to one and a half mile run through your city in an effort to raise money for The Children's Tumor Foundation.
It could be an eloquent discussion on body image, conquering fears, and challenging your conceptions. Or, it could be a post entirely about my hunt for the perfect underwear to run in. With no intention of wearing pants over said underwear. Oh goodness. This past Saturday, I did my first race of the new year!
My first race of the 2014 season was the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K. I originally wasn't sure I was going to even run this race. I was supposed to be traveling to Orlando this particular weekend, but those plans got cancelled. Even once they got cancelled, I still hadn't signed up for any events. But I realized that: a) I need races on my schedule to keep me motivated and b) The Hot Chocolate 15K/5K was on my racing bucket list. And with the event being held right in downtown Nashville, it was too easy to go ahead and sign up! Plus, They always have a pretty sweet swag bag. More on that later! Like the twelve year old girl I am at heart, I am a sucker for a good quiz. A good quiz I said! Not that whole "Where should you live?" nonsense you've seen floating around facebook over the past few weeks. I don't believe that quiz for a minute. I mean seriously, that question about which baby you like best?!?! I stared at it for almost ten minutes thinking "I don't approve of any of these babies." But now, now I have a good quiz we can all enjoy! So now it's time to answer the age old question... What Kind Of Adventure Racer Are You? It's giveaway time!!!
So, earlier I told you guys about the racing series Pretty Muddy, a 5K Obstacle course race for ladies only. I also told you how Pretty Muddy is giving away free race entries to survivors of breast cancer and how they want to help these women celebrate their victory over cancer! And now, to help you get to experience all of the fun for yourself, I want you to be able to run the Pretty Muddy event closest to you! Thanks to Pretty Muddy and Girls Gone Sporty, I've got FOUR RACE ENTRIES to give away! And, even better, this isn't limited to just one location. In addition to winning either a standard entry or Family Edition entry fee, we're also letting you choose which Pretty Muddy race you would like to participate in. You get to choose from Dallas, TX, Sacramento, CA, Chicago, IL, and Richmond, VA. Winners will be notified by email to confirm the entry fee type that they have won and to select what location they would like to participate in. See That?!? Right there, on this webpage listed under the heading "AWESOME BLOGS"?!?!
It's ok, I'll still sign autographs. Oh, you wanna take a photo. Yeah, sure, I can make time in my busy schedule... #NBD Y'all know I love me a good mud run, and one that has a good cause behind it?
EVEN BETTER! Pretty Muddy is an all-female 5K with a Muddy twist! Events include obstacles like Mud Bath and Beyond, Better Than A Dirty Martini, and Social Networking. With names like that, you know you'll have a good time! It's like a traditional mud run but better - because it's just for you and all your girlfriends! Pink and Tu-tus are strongly encouraged! And I don't mean the weather...
So long and short of it is: I caught a cold. Not surprising, considering what time of year it is, the fact that EVERYONE in my office has been sharign this little delight, or that, due to a set of perforated ear drums as a child, my sinuses are more screwed up than a box of counter-sunk inch and a quarters. (Just a little hardware humor for all of you out there.) But despite, my cold, I've continued to run. Mind you, not very fast, but still running. And a few people have questioned whether or not that was the right thing to do... Which lead me to ask google the age old question... Is it ok to run with a cold? |
