And I have a lot to be thankful for.
I had to remind myself of that today. It was a rough day for, as I traveled back to Michigan yesterday and spent most of this Thanksgiving cleaning out my home here in Michigan. IT was a bit emotional and I felt pretty overwhelmed. At one point, I felt like just saying "To Hell With It!"
I wanted to walk out and never see any of it again. It was too much, physically and emotionally.
And it was at that moment I had to remember, that despite the challenges this past year has brought, it has also brought with it TREMENDOUS opportunity.
I am thankful that I work for a great company that allowed me the opportunity to start a new career in Tennessee. I have the fabulous assistance of my loving family who have been very supportive of my recent big life changes.
I am thankful for my friends, especially my best friend, who despite moving to Oklahoma, continues to be supportive from very far away. She surprises me constantly with her compassion and understanding and I know there is no one I can count on as much as I depend on her. I look forward to getting to spend more time with her in December and to when she hopefully moves closer in the spring!
I am thankful for the opportunities I had this past year to travel and to work for different running companies. I'm even MORE thankful for the fact that I might have the opportunity to do it even more in the new year. I have finally found something that I not only do very well, but that I LOVE doing even more.
I am thankful for the new friends I have made through twitter and instagram and to have found a community of people who love running as much as I do. While we may not have ever met in person, these have been some very rewarding interactions, which have made me laugh, smile, and provided inspiration on those days when my love for running seems to have waned.
She is the bright light in my life and I am so thankful that I get to share my life with her.
I hope you're all having an AMAZING Thanksgiving Day. If you're one of those people who is planning on going out shopping tomorrow, happy hunting! I've done the Black Friday thing for many, many years and will be happily sleeping in tomorrow instead. But I understand the thrill of the hunt and the joy of a deal. Best of luck to you!
And until next time...
