So I haven't had a blog post in eons...
Or three months.
One or the other.
No one ever said I didn't have a flair for the dramatic.
And a lot has happened in that three months. So I guess it's time for an update to my running journal, eh? MORE AFTER THE JUMP!
(Doesn't that just sound dramatic?!?!)

So far this year, I've logged 220 miles. My first REAL 100 mile month in January, folowed by 60 in February due to a couple factors (SEE: Real life and Shitty Weather), and I'm at 55 miles so far for March, with more on the way. Not a bad start to the year considering in 2014 I'd logged less than 100 miles at this point...
I set a new Personal Record for the Half Marathon at the begining in February, on a hilly course, with my friend Jen pacing me to a 2:08 time, which beat out last year's 2:24 by a full 16 minutes. NBD.
I helped put on an amazing event called Cupid's Undie Run, which raised over $71,000 here in Nashville and over $3.2 MILLION nationally. I was on TV in my underpants and had more picture taken of my butt than ever before in my life.
I celebrated another year of life on this planet with some AWESOME people and my seriously favorite running buddies in the world.

Happy Birthday to me and Happy Anniversary to South Side! I couldn't have asked for a better group of guys and gals to spend my Thursday nights running with! And there's more on the horizon! This is going to be a big year for me. I'm signed up for 3 more half marathons between now and the end of June. I'm running Ragnar Trail Atlanta on an ultra team. I signed up for my first 50K! I figured with everything going on, it might be good to get back in to blogging to document some of the awesomeness that is going to happen. |
I'm excited and hopefully y'all are to about this upcoming year. I've realized that I don't really write this blog for anyone but me, as evidenced by the quirky stories, habit of dropping in a swear word every now and then, and occasional inside joke. If you do read this and you enjoy it, then awesome. I'm glad you're here. :)
For more regular updates, I definitely suggest following me on instagram. Selfies are my medium and my story is best told with a picture. I know some blogs like to be brief and to the point, but I'm a bit of a wordsmith and love story telling. My blog posts will never be brief or succinct, but long winded stories best told over drinks and campfires with friends. I suggest reading them in voices because that's how I tell them in my head!
#runlove, y'all!
